When & Why was Hope founded?

HOPE was born in 1966, in the heart of São Paulo, Brazil, through the vision of Nissim Hara, a Lebanese immigrant who carried with him not only the courage to start anew, but also the dream of creating something meaningful. At that time, lingerie in Brazil was still an unexplored market, lacking diversity, quality, and innovation. Nissim saw an opportunity to change that, to bring beauty, comfort, and style to women’s intimate fashion.

The name HOPE was chosen with purpose. It reflects the founder’s deepest belief: the hope of building a new life in Brazil, and the hope of empowering women to feel confident, strong, and celebrated in their own skin. From the very beginning, HOPE has stood for optimism, resilience, and transformation. Values that continue to guide us today.

Over the decades, Hope grew from a small factory in São Paulo into one of Brazil’s leading lingerie brands, expanding with new factories, retail stores, and even pioneering e-commerce in fashion.
